Despite the progresses made within PESCO and in the broader defense-related subject, at the present time there remain a number of challenges and obstacles that need to be tackled and solved in order to properly talk of a truly European defense. For instance, the modalities for correctly and jointly using the new capacities will require a more precise determination such as defining the threshold for national, EU or NATO eventual intervention in case of need. At this regard, coordination with the Atlantic Alliance will be critical for avoiding the overlapping of competences and capacities. Finally, it will be crucial to guarantee a fair distribution of duties and opportunities among participating States and, hence, the relative industries.Against this backdrop, the event, organized with Festival della Diplomazia –, is aimed at clarifying the current pace of PESCO and of the wider project of shaping a European Defense, while addressing the already evident and future possible challenges on the matter, thanks to the experience and knowledge of prominent experts from both the public and private sectors that will lead the discussion.Reservations will close on October 12th. It’s mandatory the use of the tie for males.
